Event: The HeartLink Gala was held Friday, October 4, at the Hilton Minneapolis.
Cause: Children’s HeartLink has been treating children afflicted with heart disease all over the world since 1969. This year’s gala spotlighted the foundation’s work in Vietnam, but the $880,000 raised also went to programs in Brazil, China, India, Malaysia, and Ukraine.
Delectable Silence: The gala featured a culinary-themed silent auction filled with foodie experiences, including a tequila tasting, croissant-baking workshop, private cocktail-creating tutorial, and a cooking class with blogger Stephanie Meyer.
Going Once, Going Twice: The top bid of the night went for a trip for two to accompany Children’s HeartLink on an international pediatric cardiac training visit to Vietnam to see the doctors at work. The trip sold for $20,000.
