Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County at the Hjemkomst Center

Home of the Viking ship Hjemkomst that sailed to Norway in 1982 and the Hopperstad Stave Church replica. Summer 2016 exhibits include Wet and Dry: Alcohol and Clay County 1872-1937, Child in a Strange Country: Helen Keller and the History of Educating People who are Blind or Visually Impaired, and Touchable: Celebrate the Senses, a completely touchable art exhibition. June 21 – Meet photographer Jon Solinger for a presentation and signing on his gorgeous new photo book: Working Land: New Rural Photographs 6:30pm
July 19 – Opening reception for Child in a Strange Country: Helen Keller and the History of Educating People who are Blind or Visually Impaired, and Touchable: Celebrate the Senses, a completely touchable art exhibition 4-7pm
Sept. 17 – Don’t miss German Culture Day, 10am-4pm, just $5 per person

Celebrate all things Nordic from the Viking Era through contemporary Scandinavia both indoors and out 10am-5pm. $10 for 13 and older, FREE to 12 and under. Bring the whole family.
