For any man who’s dreamed of being a rock star, now’s your chance to dress like one. Tucked into a remodeled warehouse on a street otherwise bereft of fashion, Ivy Men’s + Design is a cool, sleek space with the goods to match. Owner Ini Iyamba, whose style is surpassed only by his charm, strikes the perfect balance of casual and luxury (ladies, you’re in luck—he does the same for female hipsters at Ivy Women’s in Calhoun Square). John Varvatos has a major presence here, from painted Converse All Stars to tailored army jackets. Tom Ford shades and tattooed cashmere sweaters from A&G drip with glamour. A stunning vintage case displays steel cuff bracelets, dog tags, and skull accessories. But the need for more traditional “work clothes” is not lost on Iyamba. He’s designed a collection of subtly edgy—yet entirely classic—dress shirts and suits with details like slightly flared pant legs ideal for both day and night. The line is handmade in the USA, to which we say, rock on.
