Jamming for Justice

The Link teams up with top Twin Cities bands to raise awareness about youth homelessness

Event: The first annual Rock the Link was held Saturday, September 3, at the Nomad World Pub in Minneapolis.

Cause: More than 900 Twin Citians came out and donated almost $4,000 to support The Link, a Twin Cities-based nonprofit that provides supportive housing, educational engagement, and alternative juvenile justice services to youth.

Dance and a Song: Music lovers came to jam out to the tunes of Solid Gold, Me and My Arrow, Howler, Kanser, Desdamona, Fort Wilson Riot, Demographics, and The Japhies.

Going Once, Going Twice: The meat raffle may have raised a good chunk of change, but the bachelor auction was where the real action took place.

Food and Fun: Food-truck favorites Foxy Falafel, Mr. Mustachios, and Barrio fed the masses as they showed off their lawn-game skills.
