Kohler Signature Store Opens: One-stop Kitchen and Bath Shopping Experience

Kohler FaucetsPrince, the Mayo Clinic, rollerblades, Bob Dylan … plenty of famous people and inventions have come out of Minnesota.

As of last week, we can now add to that impressive list the Kohler Signature Store, at 7101 France Ave. S., Edina—a kitchen and bath showroom solely owned and operated by plumbing distributor First Supply.

On Thursday, May 17, guests were invited to check out the new showroom to see what the buzz is all about. A DJ was spinning beats and drinks were flowing while guests—dressed in their Sunday best—wandered throughout the showroom, the perfect one-stop-shopping experience for anyone considering a bathroom or kitchen remodel. The Signature Store offers hundreds of products showcased in fully designed suites, as well as expert consultation services if you need help with tile work, custom cabinetry, or lighting.

toiletsThe showroom also features state-of-the-art techology. I’m never the first of my friends to have anything “state-of-the-art” (I just recently upgraded from a flip phone to a smart phone, and I’m pretty sure I typed some of my high school papers on a typewriter), and the vibraAcoustic Underscore bath totally intrigues me.

The vibroAcoustic integrates music, water vibration, and lighting in the bathtub, controlled with a mobile device. Basically, it’s sound therapy—where you can hear and feel the music—and it’s been proven to promote relaxation. I love it! What could be a better feature to add to a bathtub that was designed to melt away tension and stress than yet another form of relaxation? The only negative is that you might not want to ever get out of the tub, and your family might miss you after awhile.

I also like the new TViD, an 8-inch widescreen LCD TV hidden inside a bathroom mirror.  I like that you can watch your favorite show(s) while you soak—all without having to give up valuable cabinet or counter space, and the fact that the TV isn’t on display when it’s not in use. (What TV? I don’t see a TV.)

If the signature store excitement continues, Kohler plans to expand their retail presence by opening additional stores in the top 20 U.S. consumer markets. The next two scheduled to open are in Washington, D.C. and Boston.

Kohler’s headquarters are in nearby Kohler, Wis.
