Living Green

One + One + One = A Movement

In a world with a population of nearly 7 billion people, it’s hard to think that the individual actions of one person can make a difference.

But they can.

Mother Teresa was only one person, as was Aristotle, Beethoven, Louis Pasteur, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Queen Elizabeth I, Shakespeare, Charles Darwin, and Ghandi. Nelson Mandela is only one person, as is Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and Steve Jobs.

One person can make all the difference in the world.

The global environment is changing, but we are not condemned to fail. In order to change trends, people need to realize that how they live and what they do can make an impact on our planet. What happens to the environment is a sum of all individual actions, and green living – living in a way that makes less of an impact on the environment – is the best way to protect the earth for future generations.

Learn about the environmental impacts of day-to-day living and the concepts of “living green” at Living Green Expo 2008 – the state’s largest environmental event – May 3 and 4 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

Every move in the right direction makes a difference.

In the words of Helen Keller: “I am only one, but still I am one; I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; I will not refuse to do the something I can do.”

Not only will more than 200 exhibitors be showcasing environmentally sound products, services, and practices at the Living Green Expo, there will be workshops on a variety of topics ranging from backyard composting to hybrid vehicle technology; performances by musicians; fun, free activities for the kids; and an opportunity to sample locally-grown food. Free Blue Sky Guides, a coupon book for healthy living, will be available to the first 200 attendees each day of the Living Green Expo, compliments of Great River Energy.

This free event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3 and 4 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul.
