While sleuthing through literally hundreds of companies and products to produce this year’s Holiday Gift Guide, I came across the work of San Francisco artist Jeanine Payer, and I was really inspired by her concept. She designs gorgeous precious-metal jewelry and adds a twist: delicate engravings by hand of her favorite poetry and quotes, including citations from Rumi, Anna Akhmatova, Emily Dickinson, and Apollinaire. For an upcharge, she’ll substitute custom passages—perhaps your own sonnet? Pieces range from $180 to $2,640.
