Home #4 – Gordon James
The young family who built this home loved everything about Orono—and their neighborhood in particular—but had outgrown their current space. They considered remodeling before realizing it made more financial sense to build new, in a lot just a few blocks away.
Their 5,600-square-foot dream home now includes five bedrooms, five bathrooms, an open great room, a chef’s kitchen, a patio that wraps around to a swimming pool, a screened porch with built-in cabinetry, a private balcony off the master suite, a reading nook, a wine cellar, a fitness area, an open lower level theater area, a large four-car garage, and an outdoor fireplace.
Builder John Quinlivan of Gordon James, a former business executive who listens carefully and pushes hard for the best pricing, helped the couple make smart use of their space with a built-in wet bar (allowing for more seating), an efficient upper level laundry design, a window in the master closet, a lower level bath complete with a floor drain (perfect when coming in from the pool), and a bonus room and office that can be converted into future bedrooms.
