Minnesota Arrowhead Country includes Finland, Isabella, Little Marais, Beaver Bay, and Silver Bay. These North Shore communities are surrounded by the Superior National Forest and rugged hills and cliffs formed from the same ancient geological process that forged the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains. Lakes in the area are abundant with walleye, pike, muskie, bass, bluegill, crappie, lake and rainbow trout. Activities include fishing, hiking, biking, camping, canoeing, and horseback riding.

Spend a sunny afternoon throwing out a line for gamefish or panfish (April is the opening of stream fishing above the first natural barrier), hiking or rock climbing at Palisade Head, teeing it high and letting it fly at Silver Bay Country Club, finding unique treasures in the small town shops, and trying the delicious local cuisine.

Focusing on outdoor programs, the internationally-recognized Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center is perfect for families. Other kid-friendly attractions include the Finland Heritage Center, Baptism River High Falls, Crosby-Manitou State Park, and tours of a taconite processing plant.
