My Studiomate on TPT's New MNOriginal!

Painter Michael Schmidt highlighted tonight on the new artists series.

Those of you who graciously—or unwittingly—came through my studio (Studiopolis) during Art-A-Whirl in the Northrup King Building this past weekend probably couldn’t help but admire the cityscape paintings of my studiomate Michael Schmidt. His work has been shown around town in such varied locales as Mayor R.T. Rybak’s office (hizzoner is a fan of Michael’s, often coming through the studio) and Grand Hand gallery, among others. And if you’ve ever been through one of the Macy’s, and previously Dayton’s, holiday shows, the painted scenery has often been created by Michael as well.

In any case, in less than two hours—at 7:30 p.m. this evening—the new Twin Cities Public Television documentary show about local artists, MNOriginal, is focusing on Michael tonight. And given that it’s public TV, it’s likely to be repeated if you miss it tonight. Or, you could check him out at his site.
