November 1 – Dawn of a Dream® Gala

A benefit for Children’s Cancer Research Fund®.  Twenty-eighth annual gala features reception, dinner program,  high-profile live entertainment, live auction and a new interactive experience. Funds raised support pediatric cancer research at the  University of Minnesota Cancer Center. November 1 – Bowl For Kids’ Sake Community Day
A benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Bowlers are  asked to raise a minimum of $100 in pledges and form teams of five with their family, friends, co-workers or other committed volunteers. Teams join Bigs and Littles to enjoy two games of bowling, free shoe rental and prizes. 2  p.m.  

November 6 – 6th Annual Education Partners Luncheon

A benefit for AchieveMpls. Join 400 local business, education and civic leaders as Dr. Leonard Sax,  renowned author and Executive Director of the National Association for Single Sex Public Education takes a  critical look at how considering gender could improve  the preparation of Minneapolis’ youth for the future  workforce. 11:30 a.m. Downtown Radisson. November 6 – Dinner of Champions

November 7 – 13th Annual WomenVenture Professional Development Conference
The WomenVenture Professional Development Conference is WomenVenture’s largest program event and fundraiser of the year. November 7 – Chef’s, Cats & Canines Fall Wine Dinner

A benefit for Children’s Home Society & Family Services.  Little Red Ball is a gala that celebrates family, a vital part of  CHSFS mission. November 8 – Taste of China
A benefit for Mental Health Association of Minnesota.  Taste of China, a celebration of MHAM’s 69th anniversary includes a cocktail hour, silent auction, gourmet Chinese food,  music, and live entertainment. November 8 – Adoption Event – Dogs & Cats
A benefit for Second Chance Animal Rescue.  A variety of cats, kittens, dogs and puppies will be  available for adoption from 11  a.m. – 3  p.m.   All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated,  heartworm or FeLV checked and dewormed.  Help give an animal a Second Chance at life & companionship.  The next adoption day will be Dec. 13. 11  a.m.  Petco. 2785 North Fairview Avenue. November 15 – Vivere
A benefit for the American Cancer Society.  This premier Twin Cities event is a gathering of our community’s leaders and dedicated supporters for a night of fun and fantasy, imagination and inspiration.   During this unique fundraising event, you will experience games and on-going activities as well as live and silent auctions. November 15 – Mortensen Construction Breath of Life Gala

A benefit for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Sponsored by Parsons Electric,  ResirTech, Egan Co.& Metro Con. November 15 – MEDA Gala 2008 – An Evening Among Stars
A benefit for Metropolitan Economic Development Assoc. (MEDA). Sponsored by Target. November 20 – 2008 Kettle Kick-off
A benefit for The Salvation Army.  The Christmas Kettle campaign kicks off with all day bell-ringing marathon, food and prizes. The Salvation Army is a faith-based human services organization that serves 2,100 hot meals each day, houses 850 people each night, and is the largest provider of Christmas toys in the metro. 9:30 a.m.  www.thesalarmy.org.  

November 21 – North Oaks I “Home for the Holidaysâ€

November 21 – 2nd Annual Meeting
A benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters.  The luncheon will feature stories of matches, the latest Big Brothers Big Sisters news and achievements as well as a keynote address from Hill Harper, Big Brother and national Big Brothers Big Sisters advocate.
