Now Casting For I Hate My…

We all know that kitchens and baths are crucial, and often the crux of being happy or upset with your home. Today I have some good news for those who are unhappy.

A little birdie made it through this wintry storm to mention that two DIY network home-makeover shows are now casting in Minnesota: I Hate My Kitchen and I Hate My Bath.

While I cringe at the thought of becoming a “reality star,” even for a day, the temptation of a beautiful new room is too much to resist (especially after perusing so many showrooms during Design Week, and seeing some of the TV shows’ amazing before and after photos online). My kitchen cabinets could definitely use a Painterati upgrade. And the gorgeous granite, marble, and silestone at Cosentino? A key player in my kitchen dreams.

With one email, a little info, and some luck, Magnetic Productions may make your dream a reality.

Applicants have to be open to drastic, sometimes unconventional changes (I am!), live within 25 miles of downtown Minneapolis (I do!) and be willing to contribute some funds, potentially, depending on the scale of the project (definitely work it).

Email bathcasting@magneticproductions.com to apply to I Hate My Bath and kitchencasting@magneticproductions.com to apply to I Hate My Kitchen.

Your application should include:

  • A picture(s) of your kitchen/bath
  • A picture of you
  • A brief, passionate description why you hate your space
  • Contact information (phone, email, city of residence)

Note: Those applying for bath makeovers need to have a full bath, plus a half bath, in the home.

Ultimately, the difficult question is not whether to enter, but do I want an updated bathroom or kitchen more?!
