Ordway Center for the Performing Arts
The Ordway, recognized as one of U.S.’s leading not-for-profit performing arts centers, is home to a wide variety of performances throughout the year that encompass the finest in American musical theater, dance performances, and concerts on its Music Theater and Concert Hall stages. In addition, each year the Ordway serves over 50,000 children and adults through its Ordway Education programs. The Ordway’s 2016-2017 season kicks off with an adventure set in the rough and tumble world of the 1849 California Gold Rush. Lerner & Loewe’s sweeping saga of the mythic west and the pursuit of the American dream is filled with some of the greatest songs ever written for the musical stage—They Call the Wind Maria, I Talk to the Trees, and I Was Born Under a Wand’rin Star.
