Macy’s is a proud national sponsor of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement. It’s the second year the company has partnered locally with the American Heart Association to raise awareness about women’s heart health in the Twin Cities. “Macy’s is very committed to the Go Red cause because it hits close to home. Seventy percent of our customers are women,â€ explains Natalie Bushaw, director of public relations and cause marketer for Macy’s North, “Seventy-five percent of our associates are women.â€
As a major retailer, Macy’s not only strives to provide customers with a great shopping experience, they also care about helping them live healthy lives. “Our customers have told us that heart health is important to them,â€ Natalie says. “We believe that in little ways, we can consistently reach women with information they can share with friends.
Heart disease is women’s No. 1 killer. Our goal is to eliminate heart disease altogether.â€
Go Red at Macy’s Events
– In support of “National Wear Red Day,â€ February 1, Macy’s will be hosting a Wear Red Sale. Shop at Macy’s stores and receive a special discount by wearing something red. Or, you can also receive the discount by making a $2 donation for a Red Dress pin.
– Heart healthy recipes, developed by Culinary Council Chefs, will be available at Macy’ restaurants.
