Sale Alert!

So many sales, so little time. We’re heading into one of the best weekends of the year to find great stuff at a fraction of regular prices—just time for holiday gift shopping. ASID’s annual home furnishings sale and artisan gift market kicks off tonight at International Market Square, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and continues Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Designers and showrooms clear out their inventory, and high-end goods can be yours at discounts of 50 to 80 percent. The lux garage sale continues across Glenwood at Hirshfield’s Design Studio. I took a sneak peek at the sale items earlier this week—custom upholstered pieces, some great chairs, side tables, other one-of-a-kind furnishings and accessories. Manager Kathy Basil promises markdowns of 35 to 85 percent. The sale runs Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then there’s Art Attack at the Northrup King Building. The weekend-long studio and gallery crawl features free eats, unique wares, and great gift shopping, Friday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eat, drink, and shop. I can’t think of a better way to spend a slushy, wet weekend.
