Salt Dough Ornaments

Make this year’s tree a bit more personal with some easy-to-make homemade ornaments.

All you need are a few ingredients, creativity and some willing participants!

Ingredients

2 C. flour
1 C. salt
1 C. water

Materials

Popsicle stick
Straw
Paint, markers, glue, glitter, fabric, etc.
or any other decoration materials

Directions

Mix the salt and flour. Add in half the water, and then gradually add the remaining water. Knead until the dough is smooth.

For flat dough ornaments, roll out the dough on baking paper using a floured rolling pin. Use cookie cutters to shape the dough as desired, or just use your hands.

Dust the dough with flour and add details to the ornaments with a popsicle stick (or any small utensil).

Then use a straw to make a hole in the dough so that you can hang the ornament once it’s cooked and decorated.

Baking
