In honor of the Science Museum of Minnesota’s centennial year, a once-in-a-lifetime gala event–the SciParty–will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 at RiverCentre in St. Paul. This “science soiree” will include dazzling performances, hot cuisine, and cool jazz. Bid on amazing live auction items, including a few treasures from the depths of museum storage, and keep an eye out for a “science celebrity” or two while you and an estimated 800 of your closest friends toast a century of discovery, innovation, and fun at the Science Museum of Minnesota.
A combination of science and entertainment luminaries will add a dose of glamour and excitement to the evening. National Public Radio’s Ira Flatow, anchor of “Talk Of The Nation: Science Friday” will act as master of ceremonies (left). Renowned comic jugglers Passing Zone will toss around a few surprises, while with jazz star Delfeayo Marsalis turns out the tunes.
The menu will be artfully designed by three Morrissey Hospitality renowned chefs–Executive Chef Lance Kapps with The Saint Paul Hotel; Executive Master Chef Rino Baglio with Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant and Bar; and Executive Chef Michael Harper with Wildside Caterers. Visit cooking demonstrations during the reception hour, and don’t forget about your once-in-lifetime opportunity to taste rare Lakota Squash, grown by the Museum from seeds dating back to 1880.
