See Through Rose-Colored Glasses

Katy Perry said it best with the lyrics: “you change your mind like a girl changes clothes.” As a girl who likes to change, I apply that mentality not only to my clothes, but also to my accessories. I especially love to change my glasses, but unique, trendy frames with my prescription are pricy to say the least. Luckily, SEE, the “hip without the rip” eyewear boutique, has opened on Hennepin Avenue in Uptown.

I stopped by the store to see what they had and was not disappointed. As a matter of fact, I was like a kid in a candy store. The store features a warm and inviting atmosphere that allows for plenty of opportunities to try on their curated assortment of fashionable frames made exclusively for See. I love that the “fashionomically correct” prices on the frames include the lenses. There was nothing left to do but try them on, and try on I did.

According to Susan Berryman, SEE’s vice president of marketing, the idea is to not only to create unique, high-quality specs but also to do so at prices that allow for multiple purchases. “You wouldn’t wear your gym shoes to a black tie dinner,” she says. “We want to make it affordable to have multiple trendy luxury options in your eyewear wardrobe.” Eyewear wardrobe, I like the sound of that! After all, what’s on your face makes more of an impression than what you wear on your feet.

(Disclaimer in case my husband is reading this: I didn’t buy all the glasses I tried on.)
