Serious DIY Moxie

Here’s some DIY moxie for you: Midwest Home reader Lucie Marusin sent me a few pics of her 1903 up-and-down duplex in Minneapolis with stained glass in the dining room and kitchen that she did herself. According to Lucie, she was over at friend’s house who happens to dabble in stained glass, and tried a panel on her own. Next thing you know, she’s completed the birch tree panels for her kitchen (with up-and-out maple pivoting cabinetry made by her husband Allan Hoelzel), and the period-reminscent panes for her maple dining room built-in, also built by her husband. Impressive? I think so. If you’re inspired to get going on your own project, seek out a class at Glass Endeavors in south Minneapolis.
