Shake Your Booty

Get Your Rear in Gear’s annual Booty Ball raises money to help prevent colon cancer

Event: The Twin Cities Get Your Rear in Gear seventh annual Booty Ball was held Saturday, January 19, at the Chester Bird American Legion in Golden Valley.

Cause: More than 125 people turned out to shake their groove things and raise money for the Colon Cancer Coalition. The Coalition works to increase awareness of colon cancer and the importance of screening through such events as the ball and nationwide races.

The Bigger the Better: The theme of this year’s party was the 1980s. Guests were encouraged to pull out their Zubaz, shoulder pads, blue eyeshadow, and crimped hair for the costume contest.

Sing Along: Entertainment was provided by Brat Pack Radio, the Minnesota-based cover band fronted by Emmy Award-winner Ryan Lance.
