“Education about healthy food choices for a healthy heart is an important part of the week-long Go Red promotions at Cub Foods stores in February,” says Pamela Knous, SUPERVALU executive vice president and chief financial officer. Knous is also the 2007-08 campaign chair for the Twin Cities Go Red For Women campaign. “The key message of Go Red is celebrating the passion and power of women to wipe out heart disease. At SUPERVALU and
Cub Foods, we believe it’s our business to be committed to the cause. Our customers are primarily women.”
Besides empowering women with information about improving their heart health and reducing their risks of heart disease, Knous feels there’s another reason why their mission is to educate. “It’s also about teaching children at an early age how to make the right food choices for a healthy diet.”
