Former Minnesotan Amy Scherber, who owns three Amy’s Bread bakeries in New York City, has gathered some of her most requested recipes in The Sweeter Side of Amy’s Bread, co-authored with her executive pastry chef, Toy Kim Dupree. If you have leftover holiday baking ingredients, you’ll appreciate the recipe for their Kitchen Sink Cookie.
Lisa Edevold and her dream-team sushi chefs at Tiger Sushi in the Mall of America have opened TigerSushi2 (lovingly called Tiger Twoshi). Located at 2841 Lyndale Avenue in south Minneapolis (612-874-1800), the new spot offers free parking, weekday dinners, and weekend lunches. Sushi seems the fascination of all the world around Lake Street, which is already home to Fuji Ya (600 W. Lake St., 612-871-4055), Carl Wong’s Jade (at the Midtown Global Market, 920 E. Lake St., 612-886-1378), and Midori’s Floating World Café (2629 E. Lake St., 612-721-3011), which moved in early December and is well-known for its Hormel-Hawaiian treat, Spam sushi.
Look for more food—including fresh produce, meat, frozen foods, and bakery goods—at the Target stores on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis and at Ridgedale Center. The company is using them as prototypes for expanded food offerings.
