Bruce Helmer knows a thing or two about making sense of dollars and cents. He is the president and founder of Wealth Enhancement Group (WEG), a Minnesota-based independent financial consulting firm that started out with seven employees and has since grown to a staff of over 100, he hosts the weekly WCCO radio show, “Your Money,†he teaches seminars across the country, and he wrote two books, the most recent being “Money and the People You Love.â€
“My job is very rewarding,†Helmer says. “It’s about helping people and making a positive difference in their lives.â€
With 24 years of experience in the financial services industry, Helmer admits that planning for retirement and financial freedom can be confusing, with no “one-sized-fits-all†investment approach.
He helps his clients select portfolios that “fit†by asking them want they want in life before determining the role money will play in helping them achieve their vision. Investing goes beyond Dow Jones averages and bond yields, Helmer says.
“Personal finance is about people, dreams, and goals,†he comments. The bottom line is simple. “Sound financial planning can help us and our loved ones live better lives.â€
