Indulging in a Custom Wedding

When it comes to weddings, The Wedding Guys® created the first ever couture wedding event in the country, putting Minneapolis and St. Paul on the map as a high-fashion powerhouse. Six international designers flew to the Twin Cities and a group of leading wedding artisans was assembled to represent a spectacular event.

Twin City Bridal Association has integrated this same couture concept into The Wedding Fairâ„¢ as Weddings Couture,â„¢ a 12,000-square-foot boutique setting within The Wedding Fair. Weddings Couture features a couture fashion runway–emulating the intimate setting of a designer’s studio. However, it’s not just about fashion, it’s about what is fashionable. Exhibits encompass many other facets of planning a wedding, such as handcrafted headpieces, one-of-a-kind invitations, designer wedding cakes, custom-styled bouquets, and luxurious linens. It’s an area driven by a passion for design, with custom services and high-end specialty items. It’s an area that fosters creativity and innovation, with a focus on uniquely stylized weddings.

For those of you who like to be ahead of the trends, get the inside scoop on the hottest new looks for 2008 in an exclusive bridal fashion show where Mestad’s Bridal and Formal Wear will present designers such as Alvina Valenta, Amalia Carrera, Amsale, Cymbeline, Birnbaum & Bullock, Judd Waddell, Manuel Mota, Romona Keveza, Pronovias, Christos and Eve of Milady. Brides attending the Weddings Couture fashion show will receive an ultimate gift bag and a glass of champagne.

“Weddings Couture redefines wedding chic–stimulating the bride who loves the thrill of being a true original,†says Wedding Guy Bruce Vassar. “What we’ve created is the ultimate source for innovative designers, luxe specialty items, premier venues, and avant-garde fashions.â€

According to Wedding Guy Matthew Trettel, “Couture is all about embracing your inner style.â€

As style visionaries, The Wedding Guys understand the couture influence and how it drives design. Take a second look at the high-end, because that’s exactly where the mainstream ideas evolve. Discerning brides demand the best, but luxury and value are not mutually exclusive, especially when it comes to Weddings Couture. While couture items generally come with a higher price tag, the value lies with the impeccable quality of the items and superior level of service in which they are delivered.

But who is Weddings Couture for? “Well, anyone, really,†according to Trettel. “It’s not exclusively for the high-end shopper, although they will find it exciting. It’s for anyone that wants that something special — a signature element.â€

“It may just be that Vera Wang gown or a custom designed cake,†says Vassar. “Many couples are picking a few signature items to splurge on … items that are important to them. These are the details the guests will remember long after the festivities. It’s all about a highly individual approach.â€

Endless possibilities present themselves when you combine the bride’s style with a designer’s vision and creativity. This marriage fosters a look that reflects personality and individual style.
