The Twin Cities are known for many things—theater, bike paths, winter. But few people outside the metro area are aware of one of our more unique claims to fame: being the No. 1 Jameson whiskey account in the world. Thanks to The Local, Kieran’s, The Liffey, and Cooper Pub—and Kieran Folliard, the pubs’ owner—Jameson has won over the hearts of Minnesotans, usually in the form of Big Ginger and Skinny Ginger cocktails, the tried-and-true combination of ginger ale and Jameson.
And tonight, Twin Cities whiskey lovers will gain yet another whiskey-related bragging right: 2 Gingers, Folliard’s very own whiskey. The newest addition to the Irish pubs’ liquor lineup will be christened at the following times and locations: 5 p.m. at The Local (931 Nicollet Mall, Mpls.), 5:30 p.m. at Kieran’s (330 Second Ave. S., Mpls.), 6 p.m. at Cooper Pub (607 Park Place Blvd., St.Louis Park), and 7 p.m. at The Liffey (175 Seventh St. W., St. Paul). To top it off, bagpipers, whiskey barrels, and flamethrowers will be present, and bar goers will each receive a free 2 Gingers drink. Cheers!
