Jazz Pioneer

Afro-Thai funk drummer and Juno-nominated producer Salin is performing at Dakota on June 30. Salin’s unique style blends jazz-funk with afrobeats and traditional Thai folk music and cements her as a pioneer in the music industry.

Red, White and Blue

What: Red, White, and Boom
When: July 4, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
Where: Water Works and the Stone Arch Bridge parking lot, 333 S. First St., Minneapolis

Celebrate the Fourth of July at Minneapolis’s largest Independence Day celebration. The festival begins with morning yoga and features 20 local artisans, pickleball, dance classes, and food trucks. Taste of Home

What: Taste of Minnesota

Where: Washington Ave. and Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis

The people’s festival returns for a weekend of live music, great eats, exploring art, and shopping unique small businesses. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Cheap Trick, Nur-D, and Ludacris are headlining this year’s festival, and they will be joined by local singer/songwriters and jazz musicians on three stages.

Indigenous Food Festival

What: Native American Food Truck Festival
When: July 5, 11a.m.-7 p.m.
Where: Harriet Island Regional Park, 49 Harriet Island Road, St. Paul

Attend Minnesota’s first Native American Food Truck Festival at Harriet Park! The festival features over 15 Native-owned food trucks serving traditional Native cuisine, urban fusion eats, and classic fair food.

Bayfront Bluegrass

What: Trampled By Turtles
When: July 5, 6 p.m.
Where: Bayfront Festival Park, 350 Harbor Drive, Duluth

The folk band Trampled by the Turtles is returning to its roots in Duluth this Saturday. The band is nationally renowned, and three of their albums have reached No. 1 on the bluegrass charts. All ages are welcome to attend this concert, and children five and under are admitted free.

Beethoven in the Park

What: Minnesota Beethoven Festival
When: July 5, 8-9 p.m.
Where: Lake Park Bandshell, 113 Lake Park Drive, Winona

Minnesota Orchestra is performing Beethoven at the Lake Park Bandshell in Winona this Saturday. The Minnesota Orchestra is world renowned and will be playing popular music at this free outdoor concert.
