My husband and I spent this past weekend in Boulder, Colorado, visiting friends. I always feel so at home in this town because it’s simply a smaller, warmer, more mountainous version of the Twin Cities: the people are healthy and glowy, the skies are blue and sunny, and every local boutique, cafe, etc., is a labor of love.
I could spend hours on Pearl Street, Boulder’s quainter version of Nicollet Mall. Even the window-shopping is scintillating. My favorite find was Bliss (1643 Pearl St., 303-443-0355), which had all the shabby-chic trappings of Anthropologie, but with greater emphasis on home decor. From botanical prints to reasonably-priced decoupage to vintage-inspired linens, this place manages to source the freshest mix and display it in a way that’s both beautiful and approachable. If I could transplant any shop to MN, this would be it.
