Blu Dot and Handsome Cycle team up to create new bicycle

Modern furniture design brand Blu Dot is celebrated for its smart designs and reasonable price points. Handsome Cycles is known for their simple, elegant steel bicycles. Recently, the Minneapolis-based brands have teamed up to co-design a single-speed city bike that combines Handsome’s versatile frame and Blu Dot’s stripped-down aesthetic. Blu Dot CEO and co-founder John Christakos calls the design the bike equivalent of the brand’s Toro chair, as both feature an economical frame and a luxe leather seat. The bike is finished with stylish touches, including leather-gripped chrome handlebars, an ornamental head badge featuring Blu Dot’s squirrel mascot logo, and a matte-powder-coat paint job in a custom gray-blue shade. For every collaboration bike sold, Blu Dot will donate a Buffalo-brand bicycle in partnership with World Bicycle Relief, an organization that brings affordable transportation to rural areas of developing countries. • $799 @ Blu Dot
