Carrier Pigeon Jewelry rebrands as NEAL

Six years after founding her jewelry line Carrier Pigeon, Minneapolis designer Lauren Neal announced that she has rebranded her jewelry label to her family surname, NEAL. The rebrand has also opened up Neal to get out with the old and on with the new, relinquishing some old designs in favor of new styles that reflect her increasingly modern, minimalist aesthetic. Her newest collection “Nova,” features celestial-inspired shapes, such as stars, moons, and lunar eclipses.

“I’ve been thinking about a name change for years,” Neal tells me. “Since founding Carrier Pigeon, my jewelry has changed quite a bit. I went from hand fabricating most of my pieces to hand carving and casting all of them. My jewelry has also naturally evolved into a more experimental, modern, and sophisticated line. I feel like NEAL allows for more expansive growth and evolution.”

Fans of Carrier Pigeon, which was voted Best Jewelry Design in our 2013 Best of the Twin Cities issue, will be happy to know she has carried over some classics, such as her owl talon necklace, matchstick necklace and earrings, and crystal amulet necklace
