Well, it’s time to schedule a camping trip—on November 30. Because on December 1, Neiman Marcus and Target are unveiling an unprecendented holiday gift extravaganza in collaboration with 24 hot designers. The 50-or-so-piece collection will include everything from fashion to gift to home décor, and it’s sure to blow right out the doors.
I mean, can you imagine what the likes of these designers will come up with?
- Alice + Olivia
- Altuzarra
- Band of Outsiders
- Brian Atwood
- Carolina Herrera
- Derek Lam
- Diane Von Furstenberg
- Eddie Borgo
- Jason Wu
- Judith Leiber
- Lela Rose
- Marchesa
- Marc Jacobs
- Oscar de la Renta
- Philip Crangi
- Prabal Gurung
- Proenza Schouler
- Rag & Bone
- Robert Rodriguez
- Rodarte
- Skaist-Taylor
- Thom Browne
- Tory Burch
- Tracy Reese
All 24 of the designers are members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), which supports and offers scholarships and grants to emerging talent, among other things, and is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Target and Neiman Marcus will be donating a total of $1 million to the CFDA.
All of the items will be available at both stores, plus both stores’ websites, and will range in price from $8 to $500. Images and more information on particular items won’t be available until this fall, but it seems like a no-brainer that there will be some things that will become the season’s must-haves.
It’s a whole new level of collaboration, not just between designers, but also between the luxury and cheap chic each retailer is known for. I’m fascinated. Stay tuned!
