Ciel Loft & Home has found a new abode—right across the street from its original location on Excelsior Boulevard in St. Louis Park. Since it opened nearly four years ago, the home furnishings store has made a name for itself with its eclecticmix of authentic imports from around the world and its own unique products, including over-dyed rugs and acid-washed metal wall art. Ciel was born when co-owner Andy Higgins and his business partner, Chad Newman, met while both were living in China and realized its remote villages were a treasure trove for antiques. New arrivals to the store—which has a more airy vibe than its predecessor, thanks to high ceilings and plentiful windows—include an expanded line of goods for the garden, furniture made from sustainable wood and other organic materials, pillows crafted from tribal fabrics sourced from Thailand and Africa, and a line of removable wallpaper by local artist Ashley Barlow. With its blend of internationally sourced goods and homegrown products, Higgins describes the new Ciel “as if Restoration Hardware and Anthropologie had a baby.” • cielloftandhome.com
