For those of you who shop Eileen Fisher at bigger department stores but have been left wanting more, here’s good news: The upper Midwest’s first Eileen Fisher standalone store has opened at Galleria.
There are plenty of the familiar aspects that shoppers expect from Eileen Fisher: generous cuts, natural fabrics such as linen and merino wool, simple silhouettes. But with the new store seems to come a new attitude: Some pieces appear to be more trend-driven both in style (moto-jacket styling, sequins and paillettes, exposed seams) and fit. This could bring in newer, younger shoppers without alienating longtime fans.
A few standouts include a small selection of footwear; drapey, loose-knit accessories; and leather handbags and pencil cases.
Those of you who love Eileen will be thrilled. Those of you who regularly pass on the line’s linen sheaths: take a closer look.
