Coming to Union Depot This Fall: Story Line Books

The retailer will offer curated selections of fiction and children’s literature, plus in-store events

There’s a new tenant in town at Union Depot. The aptly named Story Line Books is set to open this fall, offering a haven of fiction and children’s literature for all kinds of readers to enjoy.

The store marks a new beginning for owner Danielle Miller, who left her successful law career to pursue a different dream. “I’ve spent the last eight years in a career that drained my mind and soul,” Miller says in a press release. “I can’t believe I’m getting this opportunity to spend my days surrounded by books and other people who love them!”

When choosing a permanent home for Story Line Books, Miller’s decision wasn’t random. “When I started making the move to Minnesota, I began dreaming of a store in St. Paul because it’s such a reader town,” she says in the press release. “The first available spot for lease I found was this location. It felt like the universe was telling me to go for it. It’s the right size, the right vibe, and the right people. The management at Union Depot has been incredible to work with so far, and I feel like I’m joining a team, not voyaging into the great unknown all by myself.”

Story Line Books will be located in the Head House at Union Depot, between Choo Choo Bob’s Train Store and the recently opened 1881 by Lake Elmo Inn. The store will be open daily and will offer a wide variety of genres, with more curated selections of fiction and children’s books. Miller is also focused on building community through a variety of in-store events, including author readings, signings, and monthly book clubs.

“Story Line Books is the perfect addition to our vibrant mix of tenants, and we can’t wait to welcome them to Union Depot,” says Union Depot General Manager Lindsay Boyd in the press release. “Their focus on fiction and children’s literature, combined with their community-oriented events, will greatly enhance our space.”
