Thanks to CommonBond’s guests, sponsors, and donors, the night raised more than $730,000 to support the youth, older adults, families, and individuals with disabilities who call CommonBond home.
800+ guests attended the gala, which was held at the Saint Paul RiverCentre. The evening included a silent auction, live auction, Fund-A-Need, games (Spin the Bottle, Light Bright, and Heads and Tails), the debut of a video about resident experiences, and a live reading from an older adult resident who shared a story about his mother that he wrote through a creative writing storytelling series offered by CommonBond and EngAGE.
Proceeds from the gala will help fund CommonBond’s Advantage Services—life-enhancing services that provide support and opportunities for CommonBond residents. These services are a critical component of CommonBond’s integrated Housing and Services model. Our goal is to support residents of all ages–including families, children, veterans, older adults, and people with disabilities or who have experienced homelessness–for long-term stability and independence.
Advantage Services has four areas of focus: Stability & Independence, Health & Wellness, Education & Advancement, and Community Building & Engagement. Examples of programs include: Study Buddies, where youth are paired with a caring adult volunteer to help the student advance in school; Homework Centers; Teen Programs; Leadership programs for youth and teens; Job preparation and searching techniques; Support for chemical dependency and mental health issues; and programming that supports independence for older adults.
