There’s something for everyone at the nationally recognized Edina Art Fair, going on this weekend at the 50th and France Quarter in Edina. Free to attend, the fair celebrates the best of the Minnesota art scene—and, even better, sunny skies are in the forecast, making it the perfect summer kick-off activity.
The Edina Art Fair, which turns 47 this year, consists of more than 320 booths, stands, and tables (see a full list here). With all the potters, painters, and photographers on hand, you’re sure to find just the right vase for that bouquet of fresh lilacs you’ve been meaning to pick up or painting to fit your grandmother’s vintage frame.

Perusing hundreds of artists’ booths is the name of the game here. But be sure to catch some of the live entertainment acts scattered throughout the weekend, too, including singers, dancers, and jugglers.
Stop for a snack at one of the many food stands, which range in specialty from French fries to saltwater taffy.
If the kids start to complain, take a trip to the Kids Art Zone, where they can watch pottery demonstrations, get their face painted, create a sand-painting masterpiece, and take part in a Jackson Pollock-esque community art project.
Finally, don’t forget to stop by the silent auction, where art pieces can be bid on to benefit the Lupus Foundation of MN.
Art Fair access is made easy by way of free parking ramps and offstreet parking in the 50th and France area and even better, a free shuttle service between the Fair and Southdale Center.
