1. Color of the season: definitively purple. Handbag style: structured. The quilting and oversized kiss lock are trés chic. Bag by Marc Jacobs, $995, from Nordstrom.

Contrasting textures and prints look pulled together in sophisticated deep teal. So Don Draper-esque. Don’t forget the pocket square! By Tom Ford, $3,595, from Neiman Marcus.
 The pièce de résistance: a shift-style dress in tomato red. The sleeper-hit color of the season, it’s proof that simpler can absolutely be better. Clean lines allow the color to really pop without being overbearing. Dress, $1,595, by Oscar de la Renta, from Nordstrom.
