Minnesotans who’ve been hearing the buzz about hit Broadway shows like “Oh, Mary!” won’t have to travel to New York this year to get their theater fix. St. Paul’s Ordway Center for the Performing Arts recently announced the lineup for its 2026-2027 Broadway at the Ordway musical series.

Starting in August, the series will feature six musicals, including longtime favorites (like “The Music Man”) and more modern fare (like “Mystic Pizza”). “We’re proud to unveil a Broadway season that truly captures the excitement and growing momentum in and around the Ordway,” said Ordway president and CEO Chris Harrington in a recent release. “This season offers a dynamic range of stories that reflect the Ordway’s vision of a world where storytelling and artistic experiences create a sense of belonging and shared humanity.”

Theatergoers can purchase a season subscription, starting at $195, or tickets for individual shows.

Broadway at the Ordway 2026-2027

“Dirty Dancing: The Musical” is based on the beloved film set in the unforgettable summer of 1963, which sees Johnny and Baby discovering love, passion, and—of course—dance. Aug. 12-Sept. 6, 2026

“Mystic Pizza” brings to life the hit 1988 rom-com that launched Julia Roberts’ career and explores the lives of three working-class girls. Oct. 6-11, 2026

“The Music Man” won six Tony awards when it debuted. Trouble in River City? You know the rest. Dec. 8-27, 2026

“Oh, Mary!” took Broadway by storm and has been widely acclaimed as one of the best comedies of the 21st century. Cole Escola’s story follows a “miserable, suffocated” Mary Todd Lincoln and imagines what absurdities her life might have entailed.  Jan. 6-17, 2027

“Legally Blonde” puts a musical spin on Reese Witherspoon’s smash film hit, as Elle Woods tackles sexism and snobbery in pursuit of her dreams at the bar. Feb. 19-21, 2027

“Waitress” follows Jenna, an expert pie-baker who dreams of a way out of her small town. The music and lyrics are by Grammy award-winner Sara Bareilles. June 15-20, 2027
