HAUS Salon heading to North Loop

Since opening three years ago, design-minded salon HAUS has garnered a lot of well-deserved buzz, including national recognition as a “Salon of Distinction” by Salon Today Magazine and a top-five nominee nod for “Salon Team of the Year” from the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) in 2012. Locally, the salon has gained a devoted following, and was even our pick for “Best Salon” in 2013.

Today, it announced it would be opening its second location in the increasingly-hot North Loop district, home to high-design retailers like MartinPatrick3, the Foundry Home Goods, Askov Finlayson, and Arrow, hip bike shops Handsome Cycles and One on One, and trendy eateries and bars like Bar La Grassa, Borough, Parlour, and Smack Shack. The 4,300-square-foot space will be located at 730 Washington Avenue North, next door to Borough, and will be designed and built by lauded interior designer Jonathan Gomez Whitney, who crafted the original salon. The salon, owned by former Juut Salonspa master stylist Charlie Brackney and business partner Jessica Reipke, will differ from its South Minneapolis counterpart by offering massage, facials, waxing and mani-pedis in addition to full haircut, color and extension services. The company will continue to operate its original salon at  4240 Nicollet Avenue South as well as its blowdry bar, Blowdry! Blowdry Bar, at 1203 Lagoon Avenue in Uptown Minneapolis.

Construction on the new space is set to begin next week, with a projected opening of this fall. For more information, visit haussalon.com.
