My grandmother had heart disease. She underwent (and survived) bypass surgery the week I was born. So did my grandfather. He suffered a couple of heart attacks, once on a golf course. Notice those verbs are in the past tense. It comes as no surprise that February’s Go Red campaign resonates with me. What can we do to prevent the number-one killer of women?
Dr. Christine Roncari, practitioner at HealthEast, and a member of the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology—she’s board-certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology—will be on hand at our February 8th Girl’s Night Out at EuroNest for conversation about heart disease. Jan Dolphin, author of Paris From The Heart, will be on hand to sign books. And, as an added bonus, you can enter to win a $500 EuroNest shopping spree, which is chock-full of gorgeous European antiques, reproduction furniture, and interior designer know-how. Sample, sip, shop, learn…and possibly win!
Tickets are $10. All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association. (P.S.: I’ll be on Twin Cities Live today, Wednesday, February 1, talking about the event and might even have a surprise for you, so tune in.)
Feb. 8. 5:30-7:30 p.m. 5700 W. 36th St., Mpls.
