Galleria is currently in the midst of a major expansion to add nearly 20,000 square feet of additional retail space, promising as many as a dozen new stores. Today, the Edina shopping center has announced that Z Gallerie, a Los Angeles-based retailer known for its fashion-forward home furnishings and accessories, will return to Minnesota with a Galleria store opening in spring 2018. (Z Gallerie previously operated a store at Woodbury Lakes, which closed in 2009.) With the addition of the new, 7,000-square-foot store, more than half of Galleria will be devoted to furnishings and furniture, including Gabberts, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Arhaus, Restoration Hardware, the recently opened Design Within Reach store, and Soft Surroundings, opening later this fall.
What’s more: Galleria has also announced two temporary pop-up shops to be open during this holiday season. They include EXCELER8, a family-owned bike shop based in Excelsior that boasts the largest selection of electric bikes and bike accessories in Minnesota. In addition to selling bikes, it also offers electric bike rentals and servicing on electric bikes. Ribnick Luxury Outerwear, the longtime North Loop fur and leather specialist, will also open a satellite location during the holiday season at Galleria with an edited selection of their covetable cold-weather coats and accessories.
Also opening in time for the holidays at the shopping center will be a new, permanent location for women’s clothing boutique, Roe Wolfe; a second location for locally owned swimwear store, Big Island Swim & Surf Company; and CoV restaurant. Other updates coming to the mall for the holidays include a new main entrance off 69th Street with a valet station, a concierge desk with free Wi-Fi, and electric car charging stations.
