From time to time, people send things in the mail, in the hopes that I will write about it. Before you go thinking that I have a pile of designer handbags on my desk, let me give you some examples: breath spray, baby booties, moldy chocolate, a singing bear, and jewelry that I had to return after “experiencing” it for the day. Not exactly MNMO material. But sometimes, I receive a product that reminds me why this job is so great: I get to share it with all of you.
And so I give you Fusion Lifespa’s Cranberry Hand & Body Cream. This fat pink jar arrived all nestled in a brown box, just begging to be opened (pls ignore amateur photo, below). Although I frequent Fusion (AMAZING day spa in Deephaven), I was not aware that every fall, during cranberry season, they turn out small batches of this fluffy goodness. Apparently it has quite the cult-like following. And no wonder—the cranberries are naturally exfoliating and healing, and when combined with super-rich shea butter you get the most cushiony, beautiful, luxurious cream. I can feel my dry skin sloughing off, and the moisture setting in without leaving a greasy feel. And the scent is sweet, but not in a cloying Bath and Bodyworks way. Here’s the rub: This cream is only available in limited quantities, and once it’s gone you have to wait patiently until next year. I’m told that devotees stock up and dole out jars as gifts, which sounds like a fine idea. One 8-ounce jar is $36, and if you buy 5 you get the 6th free. I told you it was a good thing.
