Must Love Dogs

Even though most Minnesotans won’t believe it, Earth Day is this Monday. While Earth Day is usually a celebration saved for spring, I think we all need a mid-winter (yes…I said winter) pick-me-up.

Thankfully, Ruff Love Dogs, a northeast Minneapolis doggie daycare, has come to the rescue. And they brought puppies.

Ruff Love Dogs is sponsoring Earth Dog (the day before Earth Day)—a celebration of local art, local businesses, sustainable living, and, of course, dogs. At Earth Dog, you can pet some adorable (and adoptable) dogs, eat delicious food provided by Gastrotruck, and pick up flower seeds from Mother Earth Gardens to plant once springtime finally decides to arrive. A locally sustained urban farm, California Street Farm, will also be on hand to teach about sustainable living.

Local artists’ work will be for sale in addition to a silent auction, which will include gift packages from Psycho Suzi’s, Bibelot, Indeed Brewing, and other Twin Cities favorites. All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit Save-A-Bull Rescue, a local nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing American Pit Bull Terriers.

And if you need cute dog pictures to cheer you up in the meantime, check out Ruff Love Dogs’ adorable Facebook page where they continuously update photos of happy puppies. Woof!
