New local jewelry line Urbain is not only inspired by the heritage of Minnesota’s Iron Range, it’s literally made from its mineral deposits. Logan Ketterling, a 20-year-old college student in Minneapolis, designed the line of necklaces that feature pendants handcrafted from dense hematite, a form of iron ore that was mined in the mid-1900s, harvested from Minnesota’s deepest, oldest iron mine. Best of all, due to the irregular sizes and colors of hematite, no two pieces are alike. • urbainmn.com
