Oh Baby!

I’ve been shopping for a lot of baby gifts lately. It seems to be the season for births, or at least my friends seem to be the birthing kind at the moment. It’s exciting, strange, and an entirely new kind of shopping for me. Without any children of my own, this is one gift-giving arena in which I feel a bit under qualified.

Thankfully, everything for babies (well, everything but that Diaper Genie) is tiny and therefore adorable. And locally there is so much to choose from, which is especially perfect if, like me, you have a hard time sticking to a gift registry. Here are a few Twin Cities designers who I think are just great:

Emily Allyn (www.emilyallyn.com)
Tees and 100% organic cotton onesies emblazoned with nicknames like Baby Cakes, Peanut, and Sweet Pea.

Naptime Treasures (www.naptimetreasures.com)
Embellished burp clothes and diaper bags in an incredibly fun and stylish selection of fabrics.

Nub Baby (www.nubbaby.com)
Onesies featuring aquatic animals in punchy colors. Also carried by Bebe Babble, which features other local designers, too.

Simply Ella (www.simplyella.com)
Who knew car seat covers could be chic!
