Party Pics: Green Tie Affair

A party for conservation featured Twin Cities business leaders

At the Nature Conservancy’s Green Tie Affair on May 2, 600 guests, decked out in green ties, scarves, and sashes, made waves for the protection of our lakes, rivers, and groundwater. It took place at the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel.

They took a virtual-reality tour of the Mississippi River’s headwaters, witnessed how different types of land cover withstand the impact of erosion, and treated their taste buds to the event’s Water Bar.

Featured speakers included Carla Vernón, General Mills’ president of natural and organic operating unit; Dr. Giulio Boccaletti, the Nature Conservancy’s chief strategy officer; Doug Baker, chairman and CEO of Ecolab; and Rick Kupchella, CEO and founder of the IE Network.
