More than 1,200 guests on May 10—the most in the event’s history—and another 700 on May 11 took part in the WineFest activities in Minneapolis. A total of $1.2 million was raised to support University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, helping physician-researchers, innovative treatments, and cures for childhood diseases.
At the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, the event’s honorary chairs were Peter Janzen, retired senior vice president of Land O’Lakes, and wife Lisa. Friday’s featured emcees were WCCO Radio’s Cory Hepola and WCCO TV’s Jennifer Mayerle, and Saturday’s emcees were WCCO TV anchor and Minnesota Monthly food editor Jason DeRusha and CBS News’ Jamie Yuccas. Minnesota Gophers football coach P.J. Fleck gave a rousing speech Saturday.
