More than 380 guests attended Diamond Gala: Sparkle in the Garden on June 21 to raise funds for the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum’s 60th anniversary. The night began in the Annual Garden with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and live music from Gourmet Jazz. Dinner alfresco was served next to the Sensory Garden, including desserts from pastry chef John Kraus of Patisserie 46 and Rose Street Patisserie. Guest emcee Belinda Jensen of KARE 11 TV and Arboretum director Peter Moe introduced honored guests, the Lake Minnetonka Garden Club, and longtime supporters Al and Mary Agnes McQuinn. More than $146,000 was raised between the live auction and a matching donation from the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum Auxiliary for a new visitor tram.
