Presents in a Pinch

I love gifting so much that everyone on my list is usually crossed off by early December—so I can focus on wrapping paper and pretty ribbons (yes, I am one of those people who likes coordinating packages under the tree). HOWEVER. I realize that you may not fall into this shopping-extremist category, and that is perfectly fine. Maybe you’d rather drink hot toddies right up to the last minute? Fabulous. In support of your alternative holiday efforts, I give you my tried-and-true, in-a-pinch shopping destination: the Walker Art Center Shop. Centrally located, crowd-free, and complete with heated underground parking, the Walker’s gift shop is—for lack of a less cliché phrase—a one stop shop. It’s like Target, only special. I promise there will be something unique, educational, beautiful, or quirky for everyone on your list. And I’m not talking about Monet post cards and Zen gardens. There’s artisan jewelry, retro barware, coffee table books, trend-forward home decor, and the most incredible stuff for kids. For example:

Alessi’s corkscrew, $90       Chuck Close Big Self-Portrait poster, $35            Wire mobile, $15 (personalize it!)

Glass deer shot glass, $30                 Menu Contour theramal carafe, $120             Boccia 3-dial chronograph watch, $138

DwellStudio bib/burp set, $32           Doodles giant coloring book, $20        Elia Mini Chair for kids, $30
