For our August “Dream Weekends” issue I visited Sundara Inn & Spa in Wisconsin Dells. I know, it’s a tough job, but I really am serious about spas. When properly executed, they can be life-altering. I guess that’s why I try to bring a little spa into my everyday. When I travel, which as been often this summer, I pack as many 3-ounce luxuries as my regulation Ziploc will hold. In addition to a sleep mask that, to my husband’s dismay, I wear on the plane for the perfect catnap, my carry-on usually contains:
Kiehl’s cuticle treatment – so rich and thick, it hasn’t met a dry hand it couldn’t save. When not in tow, this little pot sits on my night stand. The company has a hard time keeping it in stock.
Lip balm – I have a collection, but am most fond of something with SPF and tint, for instant, low-maintenance color. Kiehl’s and Laura Mercier are favorites.
A hydrating spray is an instant refresher for the face, and just feels clean after all that stale airplane (or office) air. I like MAC’s version, but good, old-fashioned Evian makes a great travel size.
Lisa Hoffman’s 24-Hour Packette – actor Dustin’s wife created this line after years on the roade with less-than-perfect product. The set includes travel sizes of everything you need for day and night, including a Vitamin C serum, all packaged in air-tight, resealable ampules. It’s chic, smart, and makes any hotel bathroom feel like a spa.
