Store Profile: Parc Boutique

A Northeast favorite branches out.

Thao Nguyen is putting a little more of the “urban” in “suburban” with her recently opened Edina branch of Parc Boutique. Six years after opening the beloved shop’s original outpost in northeast Minneapolis near Surdyk’s, she has expanded to 50th & France.

Parc Edina brings a contemporary element of chic minimalism to a neighborhood once best known to Talbots shoppers. The new space is as light and bright as the original but with a smaller footprint (outfits are styled on wall hooks in lieu of mannequins to save space). In this context, Nguyen’s eye for restraint is even more appreciated. Freestanding racks hold chunky sweaters in bold prints (marled wool and Aztec patterns will carry you through to the new year) and sleek textured outerwear (mix leather and wool to stay stylishly cozy). Wall space is reserved for displaying dainty jewelry (including impossibly delicate By Boe necklaces) and collections of accessories and apothecary goods (jewelry dishes, bath salts, and the like) that make ideal holiday hostess gifts. • parcboutique.com
